There is a buzz about Tinseltown concerning a possible… wait for it… Paranormal Activity 2. I mean, is there nothing that Hollywood won’t leave as a classic-in-peace? What’s worse is Brian De Palma might direct it. Paranormal activity is a box office phenomenon created with $15,000 and went on to gross over $100 million dollars worldwide. The trip is in its simplicity, almost non-existent budget and its ability to still shock us under the circumstances… then you go and plot a sequel and then talk of a director whose salary will be at least 1000 times the budget of the first installment. Really? Not to mention that the film in itself was quite conclusive independently. But I understand this game… writers will create new victims with same (or newer) demon. *yawn*. For those who don’t know De Palma, he is the legendary director of Scarface, Carlito’s Way, The Untouchables, Mission Impossible… I mean come on son. We loved the mom-n-pop feel of PA. Don’t bring the suits in just yet. 😦
